Hello Kestrel Class 

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas break, even though it was a bit different this year! I look forward to talking to you on ‘Teams’ very soon but for now whilst we get that up and running…

…here is a selection of work for you to complete today (Tuesday 5^th January). I have uploaded a New Year’s Reading Comprehension all about how New Years is celebrated in different countries, you can choose *, ** or *** (think about which one you normally do in class!), there is also a maths challenge which incorporates the year 2021! 

For your writing today, I would like you to write a letter to the world. Your letter needs to answer the following things:

• Your thoughts about the year 2020. Can you sum up the year for us as a planet?
• What did you enjoy about last year? Talk about a time or moment that you found really fun or made you laugh!
• What did you find tricky about the year? Talk about something that you found hard about last year – could be lockdown/not seeing friends/family.
• What are you looking forward to about 2021?
• What do you hope for the world in the coming year?
