Term 1
During the first few weeks at school we be exploring our indoor and outdoor learning environments, getting to know each other and learning our classroom rules and routines. We will be sharing our whole school text "The Dot" exploring mark making and being brave to try new things.
This term our learning theme is "Can you tell me a story?". During our learning theme we will be sharing some of our favourite stories and retelling some familiar traditional tales using lots of story language. We will be exploring different materials, thinking about different types of houses and homes, where we live and who is in our family.
Here are some of the stories that we will be using to support our learning.
Forest Explorers
The children have really been enjoying getting outside to explore our woods in our Forest Explorer sessions. They have followed our rules well and enjoyed playing a game of '1,2,3 Where are you?' taking turns to hide, be found and return to base.
We mastered putting our wellies on independently for our second session and all managed to find our shoes again too!
We have found a short and long stick, created repeating patterns using natural materials and listened and looked carefully to see what we can hear and spot. The children have all showed fantastic teamwork from deciding what materials to use, working together to make decisions, helping each other and following instructions. Super learning and investigating Robins!
