Forest Explorers

On Mondays the children will take part in outdoor Forest Explorer activities with Mrs Fear. Please make sure your child has a named pair of wellingtons in school on this day and a waterproof coat.

Show and Tell

This will be on a Friday afternoon when the children are ready to listen to each other in circle time. The children will do alternate weeks and we will send a letter home so you know when their turn is. They are also welcome to bring in any theme related items throughout the term – we would love to see what you may have found!

What to bring to school every day – please ensure all items are clearly named.

  • Water bottle
  • PE kit - This is to be brought into school and left in school
  • Coat
  • Jumper
  • Fruit will be provided for the children to have at breaktime, however you may provide a healthy snack for break time if you wish (fruit, cereal bar, fruit bar. NO chocolate bars or crisps)
  • Book bag (This will be given out in the coming days)
  • Reading book and reading record (They will be given out in the coming days)

Reading books

Please try and hear your child read every day and record in their reading record when you have read with them. Due to the current situation children will only be able to change books on a Monday but they will be given enough books for the week.

For our whole school reading challenge, we count all the reads that your child does with an adult in school and at home. Reads will be counted at the end of each week.

We will also be sending home a sounds book and sight words for your child to learn over the year.

Milk

Your child will be able to have milk everyday until the day of their 5th birthday after which you will be contacted by the school dairy. You then have the option to order it directly from them if required.

Lunchtime

Please support your child to use their cutlery and practice cutting up their food so that they are able to do this more independently while at school.
