Welcome to Terms 3 and 4 2020!

How can we stay healthy?

We are beginning the new year with a poetry focus including a focus on what is special to us in the new year. 

Our main text this term will then be 'George's Marvellous Medicine' by Roald Dahl. We shall be using the text to write character descriptions and to write instructions. From this will be designing and making clay medicine bottles in art. 

Our history learning will include medicine through time, with a detailed study into Florence Nightingale and a  look into significant local contributors to medicine. We shall even have a special visitor all the way from the Crimean War! Watch this space to find out more! 

Our science this term is Animals, including humans. We will be finding out about the basic needs of animals and linking our PE with the importance of exercise and eating the right amounts of different types of food. We are really looking forward to our end of Term 4 Presentation of Learning which will include a healthy picnic with our families!  

Our maths units will include shape, multiplication and division, length and height and fractions. Don't forget to keep improving your skills on TT Rock Stars too! 

It's sure to be a healthy start to 2020 in Goldfinch Class!
