Welcome to Terms 5 and 6 

This term our whole school learning is based upon the theme of Changes. 

In Year 1 and 2 we will be basing our work on how toys have changed over time and using the stories of Winnie the Pooh and friends by AA Milne. 

DT Challenge - Designing and building a house for Eeyore 

Year 1 and Year 3 worked together as crew to design and build a house for Eeyore! After their team building activities, they discussed and drew a design for Eeyore's house. Then they went outside into our very own Hundred Acre Wood and built their houses. It was hard work working as a team - but such alot of fun! They finished by evaluating their constructions and sharing their work with their class. Great crew work Year 1 and Year 3!  

The History of Toys 

As part of our history work we have been finding out about toys from long ago. We discovered the types of toys played with in Victorian times and were historians at home and found out the type of toys our parents and grandparents played with. We looked at some Still Life artwork created by famous artists and then were artists ourselves and created our own Still Life work using the toys we have in our class toy museum. 

The Royal Wedding

Our whole school celebrated the Royal Wedding in style! We came to school dressed in our finery ready to be guests at our very own Court de Wyck version of the Royal Wedding! We had bridesmaids, flower girls, page boys, a best man and of course the bride and groom - even The Queen put in an appearance! We had a wonderful ceremony followed by a wedding reception on the playground. What a lovely day! 

Afternoon Tea with Mrs Thomson

Owl Class won this years coin trail - thanks to some very competitive parents!

Our treat was afternoon tea in our very own Hundred Acre Wood with Mrs Thomson. 

Maths Fest! 

On Thursday 21st June our school held a Maths Fest! It was a jointly planned event with the other schools in the North Somerset Hub of the Baths and Wells Multi Academy Trust.  

It was a really exciting morning where we had a carousel of maths activities and games - Pop the Bubbles, Welly Wanging, Pick and Mix, Human Beebot and Hit the Target. It was so much fun and we practised lots of different maths skills. We love maths!
