Here is some useful class information for you:

Reading:

At the start of the term we will send home 'Sharing books'. These are story books for you to share and enjoy with your child. At the end of each week your child will choose a new book to bring home.

As we begin our Phonics teaching and your child is becoming familiar with the phonemes we are introducing, we will send home decodable reading books for your child to read. These will be changed at the end of each week. It is really important that you try to read with your child at home as much as possible. Please try and hear your child read every day and record in their reading record when you have read with them. We have a whole school reading challenge. We count all the reads that your child does with an adult in school and at home. Reads will be counted at the end of each week and children can gain different certificates for the number of reads they achieve throughout the school year.
